Church groups put their differences aside
and worked together for the crusade. Members of the respective churches
rejoiced to see leaders sitting together on the same platform. A true
work of healing begun on Saturday after the Prayer for the Baptism into
the Holy Spirit when all the leaders came together on the platform and
the Crusade Chairman prayed a moving prayer for unity among the leaders.
Beni - day 1 started with about 8,000 people and then steadily
built up to 25,000 on the final day. Tumours simply disappeared,
paralysed limbs were healed. Several people too sick to stand or walk
who were laid in a shady area at the back of the field came running
forward to testify how Jesus had totally healed them. On the Saturday we
asked how many were from Bunia. Approximately 35% of the crowd raised
their hands. We prayed a special prayer for all those affected by the
genocide 100 miles north from where we were, that Jesus himself would
heal the memories of the atrocities recently committed and heal the
broken hearts. The presence of the Lord rolled across the field as the
pastors knelt on the platform in prayer and people fell to their knees
in the crowd. Jesus himself walked among them touching lives, it was the
most amazing meeting, and we had the breakthrough we needed for that
town.
Prison Visit. Shireen visited the prison again. Many in this
prison were in for murder and the title of her message was,” Saul the
murderer becomes Paul the preacher” More than 200 prisoners and guards
called on the name of Jesus for salvation. We then fed the entire prison
and handed out literature. At the end of the meeting a rather
intimidating demon possessed man was brought to Shireen for prayer. He
came right up to her face-to-face and snarled at her. It was a showdown.
All of the prison guards were watching to see what would happen. Shireen
spoke the Word commanding the demon to come out in the name of Jesus and
the man fell backwards and lay motionless on the ground. Just about
every mouth dropped open. Everyone present saw the power in the name of
Jesus.
Army Barracks. Everyone is so hungry for the Word of God no one
wants to miss out. We were invited to the Army barracks to preach. About
50% of the soldiers were child soldiers. One young man smiling from ear
to ear testified how he believed in miracles, then showed us his Gideon
New Testament that he had kept in his top pocket. It had a bullet hole
through it! Apparently this had saved his life deflecting what would
have been a fatal bullet to his heart. Again 90% of the soldiers knelt
down to pray the salvation prayer. Again we gave every soldier
literature as well as a bar of soap as a gift. Congo is being saved.
Prostitutes hear the Gospel. Many diamond and gold dealers from
around the world frequented Beni Hotel where we were staying and that
attracted all the local prostitutes. Our hearts went out to them and we
wondered how we could reach these girls. Shireen printed 60 invitations
and gave them to the receptionist to invite the girls on Saturday at 8pm
in the hotel grounds. We had no idea if any one would even come but word
spread and 85 girls arrived on the night. We had proper church complete
with songs and preaching and altar call. All the girls called on the
name of Jesus for salvation. Several girls fell to their knees crying
tears of repentance. We spent one hour laying hands on them and
ministering to them.
Several local church pastors wives were involved and will follow up what
the Lord has begun.
What we have seen the Lord do in the last 6 weeks has far been beyond
our expectation and this has just been a brief report. Our hearts are
full of thanksgiving and we now back in Nairobi . Our technical team are
on the way through Uganda after being given a miraculous military escort
out of the Congo .
Thank you for all your prayers and support, without you this would not
have been possible. To God be all the glory, Africa is being saved. |
