Boma 12th -17th July 2005

I have just returned from the Bas Congo region in Democratic Republic of Congo. The Lord truly visited his people. Heaven is richer and hell is poorer. The Gospel made an indelible mark on the town of Boma. Boma means a big snake! Well that old snake got a mighty blow on his head! Jesus is Lord and the snake is defeated. The lost were saved, the sick were healed, and the demon possessed set free.

It’s so refreshing to see a people who don’t bend God’s exclamation mark, into a question mark.

1 Peter 2:24 He personally carried away our sins in his own body on the cross so we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. You have been healed by his wounds!

Faith was high as mothers simply choose to believe the Word of God, and began bringing their sick and suffering children out of the clinic just behind the field into the meeting. They sat on blankets and chairs expectantly listing to the Word of God and fully expecting the Lord to touch them. A touching story is that of a mother who had her little girl in the clinic for two weeks. The child had stopped eating and was getting weaker and weaker. Every day this mother brought her child for prayer. Suddenly on the 3rd day the Lord touched her and she was completely restored to perfect health,, all fever left and she started eating again. Testimonies of powerful healings flooded in. Goiters, back pain, ulcers, eye pain, and stomach pain vanished, as the Lord our God who heals us moved in Boma.

As I proclaimed the undiluted Gospel, the response was overwhelming. It seemed that every hand shot up instantly, there was no prolonged altar call, and people understood they needed salvation! What a ripe harvest field! What a joy to see such openness to the Gospel.

The Saturday night of our meetings is always dedicated to teaching on The Baptism into Holy Spirit. It seemed like the Holy Spirit took every word I spoke charged it with power and carried it into the hearts of the people. A crowd of about 15,000 were gloriously baptized into the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Then we began to worship. Many fell to their knees on the field just getting lost in adoration of God’s presence.

Thank you our friends and partners for your part. Together we are making a difference, thousands are turning to Jesus, many have found the balm for suffering and pain, many a troubled heart has found peace. Such hope is found in Jesus. What a wonderful Gospel we have been given to preach. It’s a Gospel of power!
